Viburnum lentago L.

Also known as Sheepberry, wild raisin, and sweet viburnum, nannyberry is a shade-tolerant understory species useful in landscape plantings as shrub borders, taller barriers, hedges, and windbreaks. It produces good seasonal displays of flowers, fruits, and fall leaf color. The fruits are sweet and edible and are eaten by many species of birds and wildlife. Requires two plants to ensure pollination for fruit production. Tolerates a wide range of soil conditions.

Cold Tolerance: Hardy to USDA Zone 2

Drought Tolerance: Good

Wildlife Value: Larval host for many species of small moths, fruit consumed by many wildlife species.
