WCNRD has a new program to help district members with the cost of laboratory analysis of soil, water, plants, forage, compost, manure, and more.

Details

  • This program provides an incentive for residents to understand their natural resources by cost sharing on expenses for analysis at recognized labs.
  • The program reimburses district members for 50% of the cost of testing, up to $200. For analysis costs that exceed the $200 maximum, consider applying for funding through our Conservation Cost Share program.
  • Applicants can apply once per calendar year.

Project Examples

  • Soil analysis for gardens or crops, for nutrient or contamination information
  • Well water analysis for livestock or irrigation suitability
  • Soil or water analysis for trace or heavy metals
  • Forage analysis for nutritional value
  • Livestock parasite or nutrition monitoring
  • Compost quality testing

Not sure where to start?

Stop in at the office, call, or email.  WCNRD staff can help choose the right laboratory and test to suit your needs.  While we will NOT collect samples on behalf of private landowners, we can assist you with filling out the cost share application or lab paperwork, preparing samples for shipping, and interpreting test results.

Please read the application thoroughly before proceeding.

Do not submit your samples for analysis until your application has been approved by WCNRD staff.  Purchases made prior to approval may not be eligible for reimbursement.
